CLUB VALUES

The pillars of our club are built on a foundation of Solidarity & Equality. We are an equal opportunities organisation who stand against any form of discrimination. We believe diversity brings strength, and we will use this strength to continually push to embed positive societal values within our community.

Team

INSPIRATION

There have been many clubs and organisations; at home and further afield, who have influenced our work at G.S.F.C. Organisations such as Leap Sports Scotland, United Glasgow, Show Racism the Red Card and St Pauli who fight for fairness and equality within our sport and Refuweegee and Nil by Mouth whose fight against social injustice transcends sport. Clubs such as St Pauli are living proof that social values and respect for others does not need to be compromised in order to complete at the highest level.

At G.S.F.C we understand that it can sometimes be hard to make time for the activities we enjoy and be actively engaged in social initiatives within the community at the same time.

Organisations such as ourselves, and some of those listed above, show how we can combine being sociable with being socially mindful, and how together these two things can be used to create positive change. This will be our guiding principle.

Aims

To provide a sporting environment free from negativity, hate and discrimination.

To navigate social and economic disparity by providing unrestricted access to sport regardless of personal characteristics or circumstance.

To encourage participation in sport in order to facilitate both physical and mental wellbeing.

To embolden people from differing backgrounds to come together by fostering a welcoming space and promoting cross-cultural engagement.

To increase awareness of the plight of refugees and asylum seekers and to facilitate and encourage integration into communities through sport.

To alleviate food poverty and isolation and to campaign for, and support, fellow charities and community groups in our area in order to achieve this end.

To promote professional talking therapy, empowering individuals to overcome hardships and accomplish wellness.

Glasgow Saints are also proud to have established our first competitive WOMEN AND NON-BINARY TEAM team in 2022, increasing opportunities for women all over Glasgow.

Our aim now is to fully integrate the continually expanding squad into a league or leagues that will fully cater to their ambition and drive, and to highlight the disparity in everything from access to pricing structure for women within the game of football.
